20-Year Loyalty Shattered: My EyeBuyDirect Progressive Lens Nightmare 😤
Let me share my absolutely terrible online shopping experience, hoping it serves as a warning for others. I've been a loyal customer of EyeBuyDirect for almost 20 years, but my recent order turned into a nightmare. I ordered two pairs of progressive-lenses/glasses. While one pair was fine, the second pair, with base-priced lenses, arrived with prescription markings etched directly onto the lenses! This meant symbols and numbers were constantly in my line of sight, making them unusable. The excuse I was given—that all lenses are marked but only show on non-premium ones—felt like a blatant lie, especially since I'd never encountered this issue with base-priced lenses before. I was obviously quite upset, and this experience compelled me to seek a resolution with their customer service and ultimately, to share my story.
Customer: This is absolutely unacceptable. I ordered progressive lenses, and the second pair has prescription markings etched right on them. I've been a loyal customer for almost 20 years, and I've never had this problem with your base-priced lenses before. CS Rep: I'm very sorry to hear that. I understand how frustrating it must be to receive glasses with such an issue, especially as a long-time customer. Could I please get your order number? Customer: It's [Order Number]. I was told these markings are normal for base lenses, but that's just not true from my past experience. I need this fixed. I either want these glasses remade without etchings or a refund for this pair. CS Rep: Thank you for that. We can certainly look into this. While some faint markings can be present on non-premium lenses, they should not obstruct your vision. Given your experience, we can offer to refund the cost of that specific pair of glasses and lenses immediately. Customer: A refund is what I'm looking for. This entire experience has been incredibly disappointing.
